SWISS International Air Lines (SWISS) has officially announced a significant expansion of its connectivity between India and Switzerland, effectively doubling its capacity on the Delhi-Zurich route for a two-month period. Starting from 1 April and continuing through 31 May 2026, the carrier will introduce a second daily flight in addition to its existing scheduled service. This strategic increase is aimed at meeting the high seasonal demand during the spring months, providing travelers with more flexibility and enhanced connection options through the Zurich hub. The additional daily rotation will be operated using an Airbus A330, a wide-body aircraft known for its comfortable three-class configuration, ensuring that both business and leisure travelers have ample seating availability during this peak period.
The new flight schedule has been designed to complement the existing "regular" service, offering two distinct departure windows from both cities. The additional service, flight LX2647, will depart Delhi in the morning at 08:40, arriving in Zurich at 14:00—a schedule perfectly timed for afternoon meetings or seamless onward connections to Europe and North America. Conversely, the regular flight, LX147, continues its late-night departure at 01:05, arriving in Switzerland in the early morning at 06:20. From Zurich, the new outbound leg (LX2646) departs in the evening at 19:35, while the standard flight (LX146) maintains its midday departure at 12:10.
This expansion is part of a broader trend within the Lufthansa Group to stabilize and grow its footprint in South Asia amidst shifting global travel patterns. By doubling its frequency to Delhi, SWISS is not only catering to point-to-point traffic but also positioning Zurich as a premier gateway for Indian travelers heading further west. These additional flights are available for booking with immediate effect through all standard distribution channels and the airline’s website. For travelers like Surendra and other frequent flyers, this represents a major boost in convenience, offering a total of 14 weekly flights between the two capital cities for the duration of the promotion.
