SHANGHAI — 12 March 2026 — HAECO, a leading global provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) solutions, is pleased to announce it has signed a new three-year contract with Air India to provide technical ground handling and line maintenance services at Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG).
Under the agreement, which extends through 2029, HAECO will deliver best-in-class support for Air India’s wide-body fleet, including:
Boeing 777
Boeing 787
Airbus A350
This partnership marks the resumption of a long-standing collaboration between the two companies at PVG, which originally began in 2014 but was interrupted in 2020 due to the global pandemic. Following the successful resumption of Air India’s scheduled flights to Shanghai in February 2026, HAECO was once again selected as the airline’s trusted technical partner.
Gerald Steinhoff, Chief Commercial Officer of HAECO, said:
"We are delighted to once again support Air India at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, building on a relationship that dates back more than a decade. Drawing on over 75 years of MRO expertise and a well-established operational network, HAECO is well-positioned to support Air India’s growing operations with the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence."
Sisirakanta Dash, Chief Technical Officer of Air India, added:
"We look forward to partnering with HAECO for line maintenance support at PVG, a strategically important hub as we expand our services into China. HAECO’s strong regional presence and technical expertise will support the reliable and efficient operation of our fleet, delivering a seamless experience for our customers."
With a network of 19 line maintenance stations across Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, HAECO currently supports more than 140 airlines worldwide. This latest agreement reinforces HAECO’s commitment to providing comprehensive "nose-to-tail" MRO services to the world’s leading carriers.
