New Delhi: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has died after the chartered aircraft he was travelling in crashed in Baramati on Wednesday morning.

 

According to reports, the aircraft departed from Mumbai for Baramati at around 8:45 am and met with the accident during the landing process near Baramati Airport. The crash occurred while the plane was attempting to land, resulting in fatal injuries to those on board.

Ajit Pawar was travelling to Baramati to address a public gathering related to the District Council elections. The aircraft was also carrying security personnel and senior officials. Reports said there were no survivors.

 

News agency ANI reported that authorities are assessing the cause of the crash and the extent of the damage. Further details are awaited as investigations continue.
