MÁLAGA, Spain, Sept. 20, 2026 — A female passenger died during a Norwegian flight from Oslo to Málaga on Sunday morning after suffering a serious medical emergency while the aircraft was over the Atlantic, according to a report by AIRLIVE.

The incident occurred aboard Norwegian Flight DY1800, operated by a Boeing 737-800 registered LN-DYX, which was flying from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport.

The passenger, described as a Norwegian woman approximately 70 years old, was traveling with her husband when her condition deteriorated during the flight.

According to communications reported by AIRLIVE, three medical doctors traveling as passengers responded to the emergency and attempted to resuscitate the woman. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead during the flight.

The crew subsequently moved the deceased passenger to the rear section of the aircraft and secured her in a row of seats at the back of the cabin for the remainder of the journey.

The flight departed Oslo at approximately 6:40 a.m. and continued toward southern Spain rather than diverting, with the aircraft expected to arrive in Málaga at around 10:35 a.m. local time.

Emergency medical personnel, police and other ground authorities were notified in advance of the aircraft's arrival. They were expected to meet the aircraft at the gate, assist the passenger's husband and coordinate the formal procedures following the death.
