SEOUL, Sept. 16, 2026 — Korean Air has finalized a major aircraft procurement agreement with Boeing covering 103 aircraft, in a deal valued at approximately US$44.8 billion, including agreements with GE Aerospace and CFM International.

According to Korean Air’s official newsroom announcement, the finalized Boeing agreement includes 20 Boeing 777-9s, 25 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, 50 Boeing 737-10s and eight Boeing 777-8 freighters.

The Boeing aircraft portion of the agreement is valued at approximately US$36.2 billion at list prices. The new aircraft will support Korean Air’s fleet modernization and expansion across short-, medium- and long-haul markets, while the 777-8 freighters will strengthen the airline’s cargo operations.

Korean Air said it has also finalized agreements worth approximately US$8.6 billion with GE Aerospace and CFM International. These agreements cover 21 spare engines and a 15-year engine maintenance contract for engines powering 28 aircraft.

The agreements were formally signed in Seoul on September 15, following the initial announcement of the aircraft procurement plan in Washington, D.C., in August 2025.

According to Korean Air, the fleet investment is part of its long-term strategy to modernize its aircraft fleet and strengthen its competitiveness following the integration of Asiana Airlines.

The large Boeing order will give Korean Air a significant pipeline of new-generation passenger and cargo aircraft, supporting the airline’s future network expansion while replacing older aircraft with more fuel-efficient models.
