Kathmandu, March 1, 2026 – The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has arranged a free shuttle bus service for both domestic and international air passengers on March 5, 2026, in view of Election Day movement restrictions.
The shuttle service will operate between Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and major hotels and key locations across Kathmandu Valley, and back to the airport.
Service Details:
• Date: March 5, 2026 (Election Day)
• Operating Hours: 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Cost: Free of charge
• Routes: Designated routes with repeat circulation
Designated Routes:
Route 1:
NAC – New Road – Kantipath – Thamel – Lainchaur – Malla Hotel – Nayabazar – Shankar Hotel – Radisson – Durbar Marg – Yak & Yeti – Naxal (Nagpokhari) – Gaushala – Battisputali (Dwarika’s Hotel) – Airport.
Route 2:
Maharajgunj Chowk – Narayanthan – Dhumbarahi (Ramada Hotel) – Chabahil – Bouddha (Hyatt Regency) – Jorpati – Chabahil – Gaushala – Airport.
Route 3:
Kupondole – Himalayan Hotel – Tripureshwor – Kalimati – Soaltee – Kalanki – Ekantakuna – Satdobato – Gwarko (Royal Tulip) – Tinkune – New Baneshwor – Everest Hotel – Airport.
The buses will continuously operate along the same routes throughout the service hours.
Coordination & Contact
Passengers are advised to contact designated route coordinators for real-time updates and route-specific details on the day of operation. Tourist Police and NTB representatives will also be available for assistance.
The initiative aims to ensure smooth airport transfers for travelers amid possible transportation restrictions during the election period.
Authorities expect the service to significantly ease travel for air passengers within the Kathmandu Valley on Election Day.
